Krista Allen was born April 5, 1972, in Ventura, California, but was raised in Houston, Texas. Her parents divorced when Krista was young, but they both eventually remarried. As is no surprise, Krista started out as model, with titles such as the national "Budweiser Girl." In addition to her modeling work for the popular beer, which consisted of billboards, catalogs and calendars, Krista also became the "World Gym" spokesmodel while working as an aerobics instructor. Although it was clear from the start that Krista had the makings of a beauty queen, she was an education major at the Austin Community College and interned as a kindergarten teacher. But her original plan took a detour when Krista headed to California to further her modeling career. 22-year-old Krista got a break three days after arriving in Los Angeles, with the help of her manager. He encouraged her to audition for the popular soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, and she won the part of bikini waitress, Shelley. After her brief stint on The Bold and the Beautiful, Krista was faced with a different role: she was cast as Emmanuelle for a 7-part movie series based on the exotic character of the same name. Krista was forced to check her shyness at the door as the script included nudity and love scenes with her co-stars. Once filming for the series was over (it was first released in Europe, and then the US), Krista returned to Los Angeles. Back in LA, a mixture of roles came pouring in. In 1995, Krista appeared in the action/comedy Rolling Thunder, but her big break came along when she made her return to soap operas, only this time, she was cast as Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives, a role that pouty-lipped stunner Lisa Rinna previously made famous. Krista was signed on for 3 years, and although she never won any awards, she gained plenty of recognition. While working on the soap opera, Krista was still keeping busy, with a minor yet memorable role in the Jim Carrey comedy Liar Liar (as the busty woman in the elevator), and appearances in the 1997 films Raven and Haunted Sea. Krista's decreased appearances in the storylines (her character became deeply involved with drugs) coupled with her desire to take on other projects was enough incentive for her to not renew her contract with Days. Krista already had more work lined up for her, such as the lead role in a made-for-TV movie titled Avalon: Beyond the Abyss, which was originally intended as a pilot for a sci-fi series. The pilot never took off, but Krista was heading towards more successful waters. She was cast in Baywatch Hawaii for a mere 5 episodes, but was eventually added on as a regular in 1999. Her 2-year work as Jenna Avid allowed her to dip her toes in new ground and surely helped draw in a larger audience to the show. If Krista looks familiar to you, it's probably because she has appeared in a multitude of TV shows, such as Silk Stalkings, Diagnosis Murder, Married... With Children, Pacific Blue, High Tide, Weird Science, The X-Files, Spin City, and has had recurring roles in Charmed and CSI (including the pilot episode). On a personal front, Krista wed movie producer Justin Moritt in 1996, and the couple welcomed their son, Jacob Nolan, on July 12, 1997, while Krista was fulfilling her duties as Billie on Days of our Lives. Unfortunately (or however you want to look at it), Krista and Justin called it quits in 1999, and she no longer used his last name (she was sometimes credited as Krista Allen-Moritt). After the release of the eighth edition of the Emmanuelle series, Krista was seen in bit parts in the films Sunset Strip, Totally Blonde and Face Value. And what a face it is. Krista has also appeared in films like "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind", "Anger Management", and the Project Greenlight horror film "Feast". She is also well known for playing a sexy virtual reality character Maitreya/Jade Blue Afterglow in an episode of "The X-Files" and is remembered for her brief appearance as the busty "Elevator Girl" in the Jim Carrey comedy "Liar Liar". She also starred in the failed FOX sitcom "Head Cases". In both "Smallville" and "Mutant X", she played a woman who could control men with her sex pheromones. She also appeared in Toby Keith's video "A Little Too Late" and had a small role in CSI as a hooker who caught the eye of Nick Stokes in the pilot episode. She returned later in the first season as a murder victim. In 2005, Krista was one of the stars of HBO's "Unscripted", playing herself as an actress who struggles to overcome her sex symbol status in order to win more serious roles. She later had a recurring role on ABC's "What About Brian" as Bridget who is a reluctant but potential love interest for the main character, Brian which starred Barry Watson. In 2007, Krista appeared in the ABC reality television series "Fast Cars and Superstars: The Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race", featuring a dozen celebrities in a stock car racing competition. In the first round, Krista matched up against skateboarder Tony Hawk and rodeo champion Ty Murray. She will soon be seen in a new tv-shhow called "Held Up". |
